The previous owner of our property planted trees...he planted them on our towns property...about 2 feet over the property line. We bought the home 8 years ago and the trees have grown since. The trees are dangerous because big limbs keep falling off them on to our property. Should I ask the town to cut the trees down? These trees are half rotten.

Dogzilla...their poplar trees...my pool is in the back yard and branches fall into it. It's just a matter of time till one falls on someone in the pool. Plus when the wind blows I'm expecting a tree to fall on the house or garage.

I would see if you can get you locality to remove them. I really don't think you need to mention the previous owner planted them. The worst thing they can say is no and then you will need to remove them at your own expense.

Good luck with asking the town.We had a similar
problem with a tree & ended up renting a cherrypicker to trim it down ourselves only to be told we could'nt do it..so make sure you check 100%..End of story tree is gone...

What kind of trees? And what do they damage when the limbs fall. I would hate to cut large trees....they offer so much for so little.

it's worth petioning for the town to pay for it, (proper/professional) tree removal is expensive.
