If the yellow jacket nest is that big and established I would not attempt to do it myself. There a many on cantact wasp killers, all good. You will have to get far too close to apply a bee killer into the hole. Yellow jackets are the most aggresive of the wasps/bees, they will attack like killer bees, no joke. Did you try to call the town to see if they can help as this could cause problems for your neighbors as well as your self. Try to find a proffesion that might take a little money at a time. If you decide to do it alone, have the kids somewhere else if they have a way in the house they may use the house as an escape from you trying to exterminate them. More likely they will attack you.. I wish you luck.

Are you sure they are yellow jackets? If they are honey bees you might be able to convince a local beekeeper to come and pick them up for you free of charge. If not...good luck with that. You will need an exterminator for such a dangerous job. Don't wait!

Don't call an exterminator. They will only kill the bees. Bees are very useful to the environment.
Call your towns animal control center and they should come and safely remove the bees for free and probably relocate them to another area in the wild.

The yellow jackets are your real problelm because they have a nasty temperament and can sting again and again. My advice: go to your local hardware store and ask their advice. You want something to plug the hole(s) or kill the little guys quickly. You DO NOT want any product containing imidacloprid. Some insecticides contain this chemical which may be instrumental in killing honeybees. We need honeybees - without them we would have no fruits, vegetables or berries!

Locate where the bees nest is in your yard. Take a large and very long branch that is quite thick. Wrap a towel around the end. Douse it in gas or oil. Set it on fire. Set the nest on fire while standing a ways away from it. Then Run like hell.
BTW this is not safe but it does work really well.
Wear some very thick sweat pants or very thick jeans.

Probably would be worth the investment to hire an exterminator. I know the type of huge bumblebees you are talking about and I would definately not want to mess with them!

You are better off getting an exterminator (go to someone local not the big guy like terminex who will rip you off). You can't get rid of bees but you can control thm. Its worth the money.
