Leis can be made of all kinds of different flowers depending on the event, how much you want to spend, or, if you make it yourself, how easy the flower is to find. The most common ones use plumerias or orchids. There are also leis made of nuts, like kukui nuts, or leaves, like ti leaves or maile leaves.

Leis made with the heavenly scented flowers are either Orchid, Maile, Plumeria, Tuberose, Carnations, Ginger, and Pikake smell wonderful, these flowers are very delicate and beautiful.

Originaly the plumaria was used, but I guess you can use any fragrant flower that is native to Hawaii.
