In my town, we make the acorn pie out of real acorn still. I don't know how you can eat your city fold acor pie with fake acorn, but i need the real stuff. Anywayz, how can I get the acorns on the top of the tree down? We can only pluck the lower level acorns from the tree, but the bastardish squirrels always get the top ones. This year I want to beat the squirrels at their own damn game. I love me that pie. Help would be thanked by jesus. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

A question I have never heard of, but to my best thinking, get a buddy with the fire dept. and hose with water the acorns down right before the critters start to nibble them all to bits! The force from the water flow would surely get the nuts out of the top of those trees!
Seems like your town takes a real likeing to these pies and so why would not the local fire station also take a interest? Bet they would do it for a pie or two!
Silly answer, you bet, but would it work, you bet!

I'm thinking you could buy a harness, a length of rope and a prussik loop and climb it.. or if your looking to save the money, use a really long ladder..!
You could always fashion a catapult from a Y shaped branch and a bra strap! firing stones at the acorns and shooting them out of the tree. Also it doubles up as an ideal squirrel killer, which are a great accompaniment to a lovely bit of acorn pie..

Just go buy some city folk acorn pie at the store. Or cut the tree shorter so you can reach the top. No wait, like I said before, KILL the squirrels.

Wow!!!! I've never heard of acorn pie. Our yard was filled with acorns.. We had plenty of squirrels around,but they still left tons of acorns for us to rake up. Wish I'd had a recipe,I would have made myself a pie. We just let them to fall to the ground.
