gardenias have a nice sweet scent.

lavender is definitely fragrant. French lavender is best. Also, night blooming Jasmine smells beautiful in the summer eves and honeysuckles are very fragrant as well. Lillies can be fragrant if you get the right kind.

There are many fragrant flowers and what will work for you will depend on your climate. There is also aromatic foliage which releases fragrance when you brush against the plant.
How about roses, honeysuckle, lilies, sage, helichrysum (the one that smells like curry), wall flowers; naricissii, hyacinths, marigolds, carnations, and many more.

I recently planted out a Pink Jasmine (which blooms nearly white, by the way) and it is magnificent with scent!!! Lovely.
But it's a climber, so keep that in mind.
Let's see...perennials: Phlox, dianthus, beebalm, here: http://www.nhg.com/FragrantPerennials.asp Or primroses, peonies, and stock. (Stock you won't find till fall, but it is GORGEOUS!) Butterfly bush, showy stonecrop, meadowsweet.

Lavender has beautifull pink flowers and is very fragrent.Grows easy but does want to spread over the years.

Gardinia, Broom plants, roses, lavender, many out there, go to the nursery.

Honestly a flower that smells just wonderful are petunias. They're inexpensive, they grow wonderfully and in the evenings the fragrance cannot be beat.
