Leaf blowers are a disgusting use of petroleum. Studies suggest that brooms and rakes work just as fast without the use of fossil fuels. I am sure the landscaping industry thrives using cheap gas and cheap labor to blow, blow, blow. Leafblowing is loud, smelly, and overall obnoxious. I think we can find alternatives to using a resource our young men and women are dying for in the Middle East.

I have a large section of my yard that gets very little sun light but is very visable from the driveway and house. It has a lot of shade from trees and my pole barn so I can't grow grass. I would like to grow some aggressive ground cover that would look better than the bark that is there now. Any suggestions.

I tried the garden center down the road but was told you can only get a contact spray for grasshoppers so I would have to sit there all day waiting to get them. I work all day so that is out of the question

I live in an area that wants to allow private homeowners to use their lake water for anything they want, like watering the lawns. I have heard that this is a bad practice as it upsets the natural water level, especially during droughts.

We have a meeting tomorrow and I'd like to have documentation to support my claim. Thanks for any help...

I've tried to scrub them out, but the pavers are porous. I'm thinking something to seep into the stone and break down the urine.
