Hi, my husband has laid lino before in our bathroom. It ended up with some hard lumps and some ?bubbling. He rolled it when he did it, but I don't know if it was rolled to hard, much, or not enough. Cutting it wasn't a problem. We are moving and want to do it in that bathroom and a porch, but want to avoid the same problems we had last time. It will be on new subfloor. Any tips about rolling, amount of glue etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I pulled up my carpet and found hardwood floors underneath, however, they are covered with carpet glue. Yuck! What's the best way to redo the wood floors to make them nice again?

I've build it, and put the foam o top of it, to sit on it or to lay down, but it's not strong, it feels it's gonna break down. When I sit on it it goes from eft to side, as if it's gonna break. It was straight, now it feels as if it's loose. The side part is plain 3 pcs of wood 24"X 28" and the sitting part is 24"X60" (1pc) cn I fix this problem, I wanted to have the clean look that's why I did not put anything underneat it. I just recently bought flood lights that is located in the garden (ground level) of my front lawn. These flood lights are positioned in a way that when it rains water may enter the open area where the base meets to point where it gets electricity.

I have decided to wrap the base area with plastic (and elastic bands to keep it secure) but can someone tell me ... is that safe to do...it will keep the water out but does the flood lights give off heat at the point of contact and so my wrapping it in plastic would be bad (no heat can escape)?

We have 3 puppies in the house now that are about 2 months old.
Stuffing and cheesecloth started appearing all over our house because the afore-mentioned puppies ripped out the liner under our bed and began to play in our boxspring.
My brilliant wife came up with an inexpensive simple solution to this problem that i wish to pass along.
We went to our local lowes hardware store and bought 2 4x8 sheets of lou-on (basiclly cardboard but tougher) for $6.00 each.
We had them cut in half brought them home, overlapped them ( no cutting for hubby! ) on the bottom of the boxspring and tacked them down with finishing nails.
The whole project cost us $12 dollars took 10 minutes and now our bed is puppy proof i plan to do the same to our sofas and chairs.
It seems like someone at a mattress company would have forseen the puppie scenario and thought of this already but since mattresses do not come puppy-proofed I felt obliged to throw this out there to the world. Wolf

these can't be bigger than 24'x24'. It should be able to keep eggs from cracking, also with water containers that will not putrefy, nor feed become moldy.
Also it should have a method for easy cleaning that will not erode the floor of th coop and a natural air filtration system to eliminate odors.
When is cold chickens must be kept warm when is hot they must be kept cold.
And also the materials can't be too expensive.

I know these sounds too specific but this is for a project and i need i ideas in how can i design a chicken coop that can meet these requirements.

I Will Appreciate all the help Possible. Thanks.

I noticed my shower wall was "soft" lower down, so I began pulling off tiles and found the drywall behind to be wet. SEE PHOTO:
http://picasaweb.google.com/summitguy/Shower

I seems that one wall is wet to about 4ft high, another to about 5ft. This is more than half of the wall at the ceiling is at 7ft.

My plan is to dry it out, then put in new concete backerboard, and new tiles.

1] Since more than half the wall is wet, I'm guessing it would be best to just strip the entire wall and redo it all rather than just re-tiling the bottom? Wasting a bit of money, but at least I'd not have 2 different types of tiles on the wall.

2] I haven't looked at the roof... if it feels solid and the upper wall is dry, do I need to go there?

3] As can be seen from the photo, one wall has plastic vapor barrier, while the other does not! Any idea why? I should install plastic under the new concete board on the one that doesn't have it, right?

Thanks!

We are planning to build a 4X5 custom shower, all tile. What exactly do you do with the shower floor though, they don't sell shower bases that size? Something with cement?
