Wood table has been sealed with about 1/4" of clear epoxy. Am wondering if the epoxy would just chip if I tried to shape the edge with a router.

The compact fluorescent bulbs generate very little heat and I was hoping to avoid replacing a bunch of recessed light cans just so I could properly insulate them.

I've got a project coming up and I'm trying to figure out which is better to use. My project will be a desk (for indoor use of course). I don't have a lot of expensive tools so I need a material that will already be a smooth surface (free of spliters) okay for writing. The material doesn't have to be wooden (I thought of plywood and then someone suggested OSB) but I hear alot of MDF being used on HGTV. Please help with anything you can .. thanks

I need a 12 foot ladder to get on top of my roof, but I don't want to buy one when I'm only going to use it for like an hour. Do places like Orchard Supply, Ace, Lowes, or Home Depot rent them out for a fee? Does anyone know?

When I used to do construction I remember seeing these really long power strips usually in offices at cubicles and such. Its basically a power strip/ surge protector that is 4-6 feet long with 2 plugs every foot or so rather than 6-10 right next to each other. Does anyone know what these are called, I cant remember and I couldnt find one under power strips/ surge protectors at staples or lowes website. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out.

I have two overhead lights wired to the switch. One comes on like a champ when I hit the switch, the other comes on sometimes and sometimes not (the one that takes its sweet time is a florescent, the other's incand.) Is the problem with the bulbs, the ballast, the connection at the light, the switch? The fixture's been up there with the same bulbs and ballast for years, but it still comes on, sometimes.

I have a deck on my house... well, the house I'm renting.

For some reason, the person who decided to build the deck didnt install any outdoor lighting...so its literally pitch black at night.

Since I'm renting (and I'll only be living here a few years), I dont want to install actual electric wiring or anything. I just want something to put outside to create a little bit of light. Any ideas?

I want to make a large bookshelf... I want to be able to put up books, but also use it to set up knick-knacks, pictures, etc.

I want to do something simple, but large (like 6ftX6ft, but only like a foot deep)

I'd like to just go to Home Depot or something and buy regular wood and just put it together myself. But all I want to have to do is just nail the pieces together...

Is there a type of wood that is offered that can just be stained without having to do much preparation (like tons of sanding or things like that)?

Also, should I just get a nail gun to put it all together or should I get a drill to hold it together with screws?

I dont have a shop with tons of tools (I dont have a saw either, so I want to purchase the wood ready to go)

Any answers? Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks!
