We have just moved and in our new home we have a piece of skirting board that we have just discovered is just propped up and not fixed to the wall although there is dried glue on the back of it and on the wall so I assume it was stuck at some point. However the skirting is rather warped (and the wall is not straight). Does anyone know how to either straighten the skirting or a way to get it to stick to the wall - if i fix one end its going to stick out the other and vice versa. Thanks in advance.

I have just been told by a plumber that the water gurgling up and overflowing in my downstairs toilet is the result of roots invading the mainline pipes running through my front yard. Anyone ever rented a ditch witch and tackled this problem themselves, and if so, what should one know before taking on a project like this? I'm expertly handy, in fact as a professional in my work, but don't know if this is beyond my capabilities. Thanks!

Every time the plasma is super charged to a high temperature (so it will be fatal to who ever is shot) the metal in the gun seems to over heat. I am using a ferrous based metal could that be the problem?

I presently have a portable dishwasher but need a new one and would like a built-in . I understand the requirements re-plumbing and electrical but do I need to build a cabinet to put it in or can it just sit at the end of my cabinets if I put a top and side on it?

I have progress energy here in Raleigh, NC and they charge $0.10 per kilowatt which is outrageous. They are also a monopoly. I no option to switch electric companies. The home is 2300 square feet and is all electric. No gas appliances. Would it be possible to switch to a generator and just buy gas when needed? If so, how long would it be before I notice the savings?

He says that It will eventually sag. It is screwed to the joist properly and everything. It is now ready to paint. I did all my ceilings with 3/8. I have posted this question before and the concensus was that I should not worry about. But my electrician said something again to me about it. He said that it was dangerous. I really don't want to redo my ceilings. He has got me worried. Should I be, or is he just blowing smoke?

My window air conditioner dripped outside and left rust stains down our vinyl siding - I just tried power washing it with siding cleaner and I also used a Mr. Clean Magic eraser; neither worked all the way - it may be stained in to the siding. Any ideas of how to remove it or cover it? The siding is white. Thanks for any help!

We live in an old house, a 150 y/o funeral home (no wise cracks). At night/in the morning while we're in our room downstairs (we only use the downstairs, yet there are two beadrooms upstairs) we hear something about the size of a squril scratching on the walls and running around, north south east and west (it's not just running between the cealing & floor). what would be the best way to catch this little critter or at least find out what it is? I don't see any holes where it can enter/exit. Neither do I see any droppings or scratch marks. There's only one way up & down and that's through a tight closed door. There is no food source up there.

So shoot me some pointers as to how to find out or catch whatever this is (inexpensively).
