A Weeping Willow on the lot line, belongs to my neighbor and branches overhang my roof by 15 feet. She will not trim. Tree has gaping hole on 1 side and surely will die. I need to help it along UNNOTICED. Tree fills my gutters, deposits a huge amount of tree matter in the valleys of my roof. We have had water in the basement because the gutters were plugged shut and the water ran down the side of the house and into the basement. I DON'T NEED THIS ANYMORE!!! I am 60 years old and do not like getting on the roof to clean the gutters and valleys. The tree also overhangs 2 fire place chimmenys, so we don't use them. The city says I can cut anything overhanging my property, BUT if I damage the tree in any way, and the tree dies ( or falls because I made it lopsiided), the neighbor can sue for full value replacement (nice city ord.). GUYS - the key word here is "UNNOTICED". I love trees, but it's the tree or me (is that the real question?) Help - one and all

I am trying to figure how a safe way to dispose of shredded paper. The paper is not finely shredded, it's in large strips. There are 5 trash bags full that need to be disposed of. I don't know what to do with it. It can't just be thrown in the dumpster.

I am "shocked awake" each morning when my boys hit the ice cold water of the bowl... It's like a freaking Siberian lake! On the other hand the jolt is sufficient enough to wake me up and keep me awake without coffee so I can save some money.. What to do?

If I am taping several walls, is it best to use the paper or fiberglass mess tape. I seem to recall that I used this mesh tape in the past, and the walls cracked. Then again, it was a new garage structure. Also, If you ARE using mesh tape, do you have to use a special setting compound mud?

Any opionions on how to best use the mesh tape would be greatly appreciated.

I want to finish part of my basement and need to know what the average width of the floor is. I will need to use a power nailer (the .22 caliber kind) to drive nails into the concrete, and do not know how much room there is to work with. How long do you usually get the nails? How far under the basement floor would the waste line be?

I attempted to reglaze my bathroom wall tile (subway tile) with self leveling reglazing paint. It went on relatively smooth but after it dried there were drips and bubbles all over. Does anyone have any recommendations? I used a Purdy 2" brush.

We have a PIR lantern style light on one side of our garage - she who must always be obeyed ( and for those who could possibly not know who this is I mean the wife) has thought that it would be a good idea to have a matching one on the other side. Whats the best way to do it -, putting a juction box in a running both lights out of it?? What size junction box?? (30amp??).
Thanks in advance for any help.

I need to make a sign or banner for a Halloween Parade. Whatever I use will be attached to a 2x4 frame. I have some large styrofoam sheets that I could carve out and paint to look like weathered wood, and I know it would look cool, but I'm just worried about the wind factor. Do you think styrofoam could be nailed to the wood? Will it snap in half if the wind catches it? Is there a way to make it stronger?

I have a one shower in which the water pressure is so high it makes it unusable, but everywhere else in the house the water pressure is fine.
It's a closed vented system that requires 1 bar pressure which cannot be reduced, so I'm stumped as to how to reduce the pressure for this one shower.
Anyone out there have any idea's?

I have a clog in my shower drain and I removed the metallic top but there's another part inside of it that is white in the shape of a cross. I believe it's the hair trapper but removing the hair didn't clear the clog. I want to get an auger that I bought in there but I have no clue how to remove this white plastic. Anyone knows how to do it?
