It depends on where you live. I know the contractors I worked with in Ohio would have charged between $150 and $200 for that type of project, maybe more depending on how long it took. Some may charge you for supplies or that price may include supplies. The supplies to do such a project would cost probably around $100 give or take depending on the quality of paint you choose.

The best thing to do is get quotes from potential contractors. Gather references from friends and family, then make some calls. Or go to a local hardware store and get business cards for contractors they do business with. Talk the paint department manager, they know who's good and who's not. (I did anyway) If you randomly call someone out of the phone book, get references and check the BBB (if there is on in your area.) There are a TON of contractors who will do nothing more than rip you off. At best a bad contractor will do a terrible job, at worst they'll take your money and disappear.

Steve in NC states a price that's fair. I usually base my fee on wall sq. ft.; not room sq. ft.

If I only charged a dollar a sq. ft. not including trim work; and assuming 8 ft. celings; my base would be $384.

Certainly that would either have you purchasing the paint; or add the cost of materials; if I buy. If you do get estimates local; which makes more sense anyway; try to know of any itemized costs. Any decent contractor might charge you for some consumables; but be mindful that you shouldn't have to pay for them to buy brushes/ roller equipment/ drop cloths/ etc.

it depends on were you live and who you hire. a handyman will be cheaper as he is not licensed. most painter/handyman have a set price that they charge and it is based on the type of work. current color of the room is it empty, type of wall/ceiling textures
in Ca i get about 350 for the walls and the ceiling about 150 if heavy texture

good luck

1 Gallon of paint will cover approx. 400 sq.ft., based on specs you are giving and it's a 8' high ceiling, you will need 2 gallons for the walls and 1 gallon for the ceiling, In metro NY/NJ area it will be around $ 150.00 per gallon X3 and anadditional $ 100.00 for the trim/door work. Paint included.
If you were to purchase the paint deduct -$50.00.
