I need a 12 foot ladder to get on top of my roof, but I don't want to buy one when I'm only going to use it for like an hour. Do places like Orchard Supply, Ace, Lowes, or Home Depot rent them out for a fee? Does anyone know?

Home Depot rents just about any tool that you need. They also deliver the larger ones for you or you can rent their truck to bring them home yourself. Becareful, don't fall.

I would put a few notices around the area saying that you need a 12' ladder and will pay for the use of it with your phone number. When you get a call ask how much they want. After a few calls you'll get the lowest price. Keep track of the notices location so you can collect them when you got one and won't keep getting calls. There is most likely one very close to you. Actually I would start with one or two notices. Cheers. SS

To the best of my knowledge, they do not rent them out. However, if you have a rental place around (where you rent party supplies, wedding supplies, tents, etc...) they have them to rent.
