I want to hang some pictures up in my new flat but not sure what to use and the best way of going about it is? The walls are thin, when i tap on them they sound hollow, so what do i need?

You can buy things at the hardware store that you hammer into the wall called molly bolts and they open up inside the wall to help to hold weight. You then put screws into them and hang the picture on the screws.

They have picture hanging hooks that will hold up to 100 lbs, in a hollow wall. They look kind of like a flat " J " . Go check out the Hardware Store,and if you are unsure of which ones to buy, ask. Byee

Picture hooks from a hardware or department store should work fine. The wall will sound hollow, but pictures weigh very little, so a basic picture hook, held in place with a brad (small nail) should work fine.

depending on the weight of the items you wish to hang

I would get some zinc screw in drywall anchors (if your walls are drywalled)

if there not get some plastic anchors (usually 1/4" in dia) drill a hole first, tap in the anchor and then screw in the screw

go to your local home improvement store, there are many different styles of anchors for hollow walls
