We have a basement finished with paneling walls and carpeting and a drywalled ceiling. We want to create 2 new walls and hang a door to make a new room down there. I want to avoid drywall, plus paneling will match the existing basement walls. How do you create new paneling walls, and hang a door? Do you frame out walls as you would for drywall? How can this be done over the carpeting?

I have baseboard heating in my house... the boiler is approx 50 years old.

My existing thermostats have 4 wires (white, red, green, and black).

On the NEW thermostat I bought, the instructions tell me to ignore the colors, and to copy the config of my old thermostat.

However, my old thermostat simply has red and white on one screw to the left - and green and black on one screw to the right.

Therefore, I cannot copy the configuration to from the old thermostat to the new, because the new thermostat requires each color to go to a seperate terminal.

Any ideas?

I'm making a kiln from High Temp Insulating bricks, and will be using either a bullfinch burner kit or a sievert kit to fire the kiln, from a 47kg propane bottle.. I was hoping someone had experience of using either of the above gas kits and could advise which is the most reliable and the quietest. Many thanks.

I'm going to be a burlesque/moulin rouge girl for Halloween, and I bought a mini top hat to wear. I want to attach netting to it to cover the face, and I'm also wondering how to attach the hat to my head since the hat is pretty small. The hat is made of felt. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

This is the original valve installed in a new home around 1982. I can remove the handle and trim plate, but can't see any identifying information on the valve, plate or handle? It's a shower-only (no tub) single-valve setup: pull-push for on-off, twist for temperature control.

I'm working on a sculpture and need to buy 4x8 sheets of styrofoam, or other rigid foam. I know it is sold at lumberyards, but I was wondering if there is anywhere online I could buy it for cheaper, or if there are other stores I should contact. I am looking to buy in 1, 2, or 4 inch thicknesses. Thanks!
