Making pinatas?

What are some good ideas and instructions for homemade pinatas? thanks!

First of all I wanna say HAVE FUN with it.

Without knowing at all any designs you have in mind, balloons make a great base for paper mache. Paper and elmers glue, or paper and flour/ water paste.

Simple Plan: A Smiley face.

A Round balloon inflated. Mix a paste of flour and water, or thinned Elmers. Shred newspaper to manageable sizes and slop into the bucket of paste, apply to the ballon in layers overlapping each other, allow dry time; GENTLY deflate the balloon; and decorate.

In the design, no matter what it is, allow a TAB at the top, as part of the pinata that is substantial enough to string up the piece. For more KID enjoyment, make the layering at the BELLY of the piece thinner than the rest, to allow easy breaking open.

After the basic piece is dry, you can paint; use pieces of colored paper/ foil/ tissue/ etc. Buttons for eyes, yada yada yada ,,,Get creative,,,and again, have fun.

hi hope this helps!
:
first:
get a balloon, blow it as much as you want your pinata to be.
second:
bring some flower and water and mix them in a big bowl.
third:
get some old newspaper and shred them with your hand to stripes. ( they don't have to be so straight stripes)
fourth:
dip the news paper in to the flower and water and put them on the balloon until u covered it.
fifth:
let it dry then do a second layer.
sixth:
get some duct tape and make the eyes and nose ..... ext.
seventh:
get a knife and rip a small opening to put your candy in.
eighth:
get some paper ma-she and cut them into pieces and glue the on the pinata.
ninth:
put on a string so u could hang it somewhere high.
tenth:
hang it somewhere high and bring a stick or a baseball bat to hit with, and u will have a lot of fun!

Paper Mache'.. blend flour with water, to make a paste-like substance, like glue.. blow up a balloon, take newspaper &tear it into strips of paper (immediately products of paper, decrease in 1/2..) stick it on the balloon, make 5 layers of it a minimum of, trust me, it in basic terms isn't a lot.. &then beautify it! oh yet before you beautify, decrease somewhat finished to adhere in sweet &stuff.. OH! &satisfied early Birthday!(: yet MAKE IT IMMEDIATLY! IT needs to DRY FOR a lengthy time period..

you could also get creative with toilet rolls for legs/head etc and make an animal?

whatever you do, DON'T assume putting it at a low temperature in the oven will help it dry. we did this. it collapsed!
