Can't draw you a picture but the diagram
for three way switching is easy to draw:
Neutral, (White) and phase wire, (Black),
enter the diagram from the left.
The neutral continues all the way across to
where it connects to one side of the load, (Light).
The black enters the first 3 way switch (Black screw),
Two wires run from the first 3 way switch to the
second, (Brass screws both switches),
A black wire runs from the second switch, (black
screw), to the other terminal on the load, (Light).
In function, it's like a railway line that splits into two lines at a switch and recombines at another.
If both switches are pointed to the same line, the
train, (current), can pass. If either is moved, not.

Irv gave you a good detail of wiring 2 three way switches to a lamp, light fixture, or switched receptacle. Of course you have to realize there is much more to safe wiring than connecting the switches and lamps correctly. Circuit size, wire gauge, wiring methods, and complying with the electric code so your house will pass any future inspections and not burn down in the mean time.

Installing an entirely new circuit is complicated and potentially dangerous if you don't have experience. You will have to run wiring all the way from your fuse box, through the cieling, into the wall and to your switch. You will then have to run additional wiring from the switch back through the wall and cieling and to the light location. Without a background in electrical installation you could easily burn your house down... I've seen it happen.
If you are hell bent on doing it yourself I would go to these websites... Pay special attention to the first link. Everything you need to know is at the bottom of the page... just click and go. I'd recommend printing everything out first.

No. You don't need to wire hall lamp with switch on either end of hall.

if you have to ask, then you had better call an electrician, you have to use 2 -3 way switches, unless you know how to do electrical wiring , then your better off having an electrician do it,
