This is just a real bad idea! However, if you must, you need to drill a pilot hole through the stucco and into what you'd bette hope is plywood substrate. Problem is, these days a lot og builders are using O.S.B. or orientes strand board. this is a fancy name for wood chips and resin. It really doesn't have any real strength!!

Rhis is just a bad idea that can get worse over time!! If you do drill holes, make darn sure you seal them well with an epoxy filler before you hang whatever you plan to hang!!

When we had stucco walls we would put a piece of tape up first before putting a nail in the wall. It would keep the stucco from cracking.
