Bostitch came out with a framing nailer that has its own angle...31 deg. I have a porter cable, pneumatic framing nailer and a Paslode gas powered nailer. Both take 20 deg. framing nails up to 3 1/2". although I usually use 3 1/4".

the Porter cable needs a compressor, the Paslode uses small gas cylinders, but no compressor.

Most building suppliers carry the 20 deg. nails. Only Bostitch dealers cary Bostitch nails.

you need to decide if you have a pwer supply that is 20 amp. close by then you can use a compressor and peumatic nailer. If you are on a job site with NO power, or the power supply is a goodly distance from your work area, I'd use the Paslode.

If you found one that will use all that, buy it. I don't think there was any more reason than being proprietary on nails. What this would mean to you, is you could buy anyone's nails not just the gun manufactures nails.

just stick with brand names

paslode is a very good brand that I have and use, but its a matter of preference. dont rush into it, read up and know what you want before buying, you will be VERY glad you did.

You'll be ok with that. The ANGLE effects leverage.
