The previous owner of my RV did a sloppy job and got caulking all over the edge of the tub surround and it looks kinda bad. Any ideas to get it off without damaging the tub surround would be greatly appreciated!

The diverter isn't working right for our 1950's 3-valve shower/tub plumbing. Half the water goes up to shower, half comes out the tub spout. I want to get the diverter out to see if that's where the problem lies. I've got the handle off & can *see* some of the edges of the packing nut, but apparently they cut the tile to fit the stem -after- all of the plumbing was already in place. The hole in the tile is smaller than the entire packing nut (let alone big enough to let me get the socket in & turn it).

I really don't want to re-tile the entire shower. What I'd like to do is to snip the hole in the tile to something that's just barely bigger than the packing nut. How do I cut the tile with the least chance of totally breaking it & having to replace it?

Also, any advice re: fixing the diverter would be appreciated, too!

I just bought a house and wanted to redo the style of one of my bathrooms. I thought this would be quite easy because it simply involved changing out a pedestal sink and faucet ... I was able to remove the basin part of the pedestal with ease but the base of the sink appears to have been thin set or grouted down to the tile.

Can anyone give me some tips as to how I can remove the sink without cracking the tile underneath?

Will I have to retile the part of the floor that the sink was set to before installing a new pedestal?

Thanks!

We etched a concrete floor to put down new tile, and i was just wondering if the dried out acid poses any health risks after it's dried out. Thanks.

Is there any reason to not use galvanized fittings with black pipe. The availability seams better.

but then wasted, left in a corner, wrongly sized, ruined, thrown away without being used etc etc, were given to you and you returned them, would you be richer than all the diy stores?

Our electrical contractor completed rough in on our house and garage, and after failing and doing repairs, did finally pass inspection for rough in. He quoted us $24,000 for the entire job, and is billing us $17,000 as 70% of the quote. I asked if 70% of the work was done yet, and he replied that it didn't matter. It is their policy to get paid 70% when completing rough in. He never did finish the job (from last October), and we had to do all the finish wiring ourselves. That included all of the wiring to the main panel, circuit breakers, furnace and water heaters, and all switches, outlets, branch circuit junction boxes, and lighting fixtures. My question is this: Is completing rough in truly 70% of the labor and materials?

I built the stand up to the part where you put the tv on it.
Stand: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050827.jpg
My finger is where the brackets would go. My nail is where the screw would go: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050830.jpg
Back of tv: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050832.jpg
My finger is where the rectangular mounting frame would go: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050833.jpg
As you can see the bolt ends up attached to the air: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050834.jpg
This is the supposed safety bolt that "stops the tv from falling": http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050838.jpg
It consists of a screw through a plastic cylinder and doesn't even touch the tv (hand is where tv would go): http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/tinkypatz/TV/P1050839.jpg
Does it look right? are the brackets just supposed to be put on the frame and not secured?

I am trying to determine the BASIC cost for standard interior glass walls for internal offices. I know different types will cost different prices, but I am just trying to get a basic price range estimate for pre-budgeting. For example, let's say we are building a standard 10'x12' internal glass wall office. How much would this cost? Or better yet, how much compared to standard dry wall? Thanks!

The AC guy tells me our two bedrooms are sharing one 6" AC vent in the attic. Probably the builder did it to save $$. Question is, how difficult is it to add an additional one? And about what would it cost to have the AC people do it for me? The AC guy said to buy a "crown" when adding it. Anyone know what that is? Could I find one at Lowe's/Home Depot??
