We etched a concrete floor to put down new tile, and i was just wondering if the dried out acid poses any health risks after it's dried out. Thanks.

First of all it should be rinsed. OR should HAVE BEEN. MA is not systemic, and will dissipate with dillution, but any use of it for etching would leave some substance of residue no matter. At the very least a sweep and a wet mop, or a wet dry vac pass over, before considering mortar over any possible residue.

Muriatic acid ( Hydrochloric acid ) is one of the most caustic and dangerous acids there is,and should only be used by those who are experienced in it's use,and should be neutralized with 1 cup of ammonia in one Gal.of water.Caution should be taken to NOT breathe the fumes.A good substitute for Muriatic acid is Phosphoric acid which is a lot less dangerous, but should also be used with caution.Like I stated above, when you use Muriatic acid, you should rinse the object that is used on with the ammonia and water.
