I have installed a light fixture with a transformer and it is making this loud buzzing noise.

1- Did i install it wrong? (But the lights worked for a while.. when i did the final installation it stopped working.. may be a wire got loose or something? Would the lights work if the installation was wrong? Buzzing continues even though the light does not work. I shut it off for now to be safe...)

2- Is it normal for a transformer to make a loud buzzing noise?

3- I bundled up all the black cables(4 wires going into individual branches) from the fixture and connected to what i thought was black cable into transformer and i bundled up all white wires(4 wires) and connected to white cable into transformer. I made sure no black wires touch black wires...If i connected the wires wrong terminal into transformer.. wouyld that contribute to loud noise??

4- How would i know if the transformer was damaged by a faulty installation?

Thanks alot.

Garage conversion DIY can you help what are legal requirements for walls, floors, ceiling. I understand that for ceilings you need insulation laid both ways.Do you need to fix a waterproof membrane to walls etc.

Running a strip of tape along the seam leaves a crack visible under the tape. Any filler? Or any tricks or tips?

i recently i pulled the livingroom carpets and kitchen tiles to expose the underlying concrete in my melbourne second level apartment. my intentions is to polish the concrete.

the cement used to hold down the kitchen tiles is still visible and about 3mm raised from the underlying concrete surface.

owing to ongoing problems with my neighbours, using an industrial grinder to remove the cement is not an option, hence this request.

i have tried using hydrochloric acid (33%) with some success but this is an ugly process.

what advice could you offer me here? basically i'm looking for a silent way of removing the cement in preparation for final polishing.

thanks and regards,

We are having trouble with ours and I am wondering if we are the only ones. It takes FOREVER to get hot water and when we do it doesn't seem to stay hot long enough to fill a bath tub because it just kicks off. It will kick back on, but it is very annoying if you are taking a long shower. Also, our pilot has now started going out at least every other day. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm installing a bathroom vanity but it won't fit because of the pipes from the wall and the floor. If I can remove the drain pipe, I could get it to fit. Then I could install the pipe once I get the vanity in.

looking for ideas and info to build a simple and rustic wind powered pump for a backyard pond. I don't want to use any elecricity and I would like to create something that once its made, will be trouble free and simplistic in operation. I esp. want info regarding the vane design and the method of drawing the water. I would appreciate any web sites, but I don't want to buy any pre-designed thing or plans.

Engineered hardwood floors on concrete. We just pulled up the old carpet and there is over spray paint from the builders on the concrete. Does that need to be completely scrapped up before applying the vapor barrier/glue?
