Meaning, I need to add some kind of motion sensor/photo sensor to it. I don't mind adding some hard-wiring, but I am having trouble finding hardware.

I don't think I'm asking that question correctly. Basically, I'm building a shower window from 8X8 glass block. It will be built within a frame build of 2X4s, very standard. But when I add the width of a 2X4 (it's actually 3.75" or so) plus the width of the durarock on the inside and 7/16's OSB on the outside.... Well, I guess I'm just trying to figure out how to make it look 'right'. I guess the window thickness will be slightly less than the wall thickness. How do I finish that? Aluminum flashing or something?

Have an older lovely gate-leg table ... the leg portion is in beautiful condition, while the table-top is a mess. I decided to be proactive and refinish it... but I just can't get it looking right. Anyone know about what a reasonable quote would be to have someone professionally fix my mistake? The table is oval, and would seat six if all the way open.. and is is acceptable to ask for references in this kind of business?

I have a light switch that is connected to an electrical outlet on the west side of the room. The problem is that I need the light on the east side of the room. It would be unsightly and unsafe to run an extension cord across the room because it would cross a doorway. Any suggestions? Some sort of infrared switch or something conencted to the lamp perhaps? Is there such a thing?

I'm using my new circular saw to cut some 3/4" plywood. There is lots of smoke coming from the cutting area and the cut edge of the wood is blackened. can only cut at about 1ft per minute. Is my blade too thick? Or do I need some lubrication?

My problem is that one of the rooms of the house i just bought is freezing, while hte other rooms get lots of heat. The old man that had the room before had the room completely empty , and presumbably never used it. I assume he cut off the heat to that room. Its now the girl's room and i need to know how to get the heat back on ( I dont want to pay someone to flick a switch if its that simple )

So, I bought this angle grinder, 4.5 inches I think the wheel is. I also bought this wheel for grinding metal. It's got a threaded hub and a nut on it. But it looks like the nut side is supposed to go against the grinder. And the nut is so thin, that a box end wrench won't fit in there. So, how is this supposed to be done?
