I would have to say what other posts have said..de clutter and paint your room a more pale colour...but I would add...have a feature wall painted in a bright red colour. Forget filling your room with mirrors, apart from looking like a porn site..they are too expensive ( my hubby's a glazier and I know how much it would cost to do a room but maybe 1 wall opposit the feature wall may be worth it). Try to minimise your furniture and maximise with smart storage. Try to follow a colour scheme throughout. Good Luck :)

Light colours on the walls. Mirrors and light and airy furniture. I had a flat with a long narrow living/dining room. I bought chairs almost like deckchairs. They were folding, chrome framed with canvas . I bought a 'garden' table with benches, used the benches for the TV and hi-fi system and 'directors' chairs for the dining table. I also had a nest of glass and chrome coffee/side tables. The furniture didn't impose on the room. An architect, whose parents lived in the same block, said it was the best furnished living/dining room in the block. It was possibly also the cheapest - except for the nest of tables - this was in Sydney and they were from Italy - my little luxury.

Paint helps. My kids room has two pale blue walls opposite each other and the other 2 walls are pale yellow. It does actually look bigger then it is. Also keep clutter to a minimum. Paint is a cheap easy way to fix a place up.

Break the wall. No, just kidding.

Try Painting the room a light shade of colour, try rearranging some furniture, or move things out that you can do without in the bedroom. Use pleasent colour curtains (Light colours)

Good luck

put light colors on the walls and than a lighter color on the ceiling, ceiling white is great, but not for the walls. get rid of any clutter. add lighting. use an open arrangement for the furniture to give space. add mirrors. soft colors work best with this but be creative and have a good time.

It’s been said that painting a room white / light and neutral colours gives the impression of space via making the place more brighter. Avoid dark colours on the walls and furnishings.

less clutter is key. also try lighter colors on the walls, dark colors close in a space too much. try using photo boxes that are in cool colors for storage of other things, not just photos. you can get these boxes at A.C. Moore. They run for about $4 i believe. Good luck and check out my question on if anyone needs interior design advice by clicking on my name!!!
