no way. water will leak thru and your wood will rot and you will not be a happy one when your shower falls down, down, down.................................... dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get some dura rock concrete board stuff , thats what hubby used. It wont absorb the water, so hopefully it wont rot. Trust me, we didnt do it right the first time!

Yup, I'm the same! A few times a week I make an effort and do my hair and makeup, even if I'm not going anywhere, and it really does make such a big difference to how I feel about myself. But generally speaking, I just can't be bothered! I too often leave the house without a drop of makeup on - sooo shocking for people who know me pre-baby! But I've moved to a new area so I just figure what the hell no-one knows me LoL. When my son is napping, I have better things to do with myself than to spend half an hour in the mirror dolling myself up - but I still love it, and wish I had the energy to do it more often!!

Green chipboard as you call it is moisture resistant chipboard which can be fully submerged for 12 hrs without having an adverse effect (so they say). if you were to go to any builders merchant and ask for Moisture resistant chipboard (V313) they will know what you mean, failing that an 18mm WBP plywood would be a good alternative.

I think the ' green chipboard ' is impregnated with something to make it more water resistant. If you do the job right & make sure there are no leaks I cant see that it matters what is under the showertray

No its no good painting it,you need the proper stuff......try your local trade DIY place, not places like B and Q or Homebase, maybe Travis Perkins,Smiths or Buildbase if you are not trade,or Selco if you are, otherwise use normal chipboard coated with something like Ronseal waterseal which is used on the bottom of doors etc to stop the ingress of water

I wouldn't put any chipboard products under anything that has water around it. If you want to use wood, I would suggest and outdoor grade plywood, or else I would use the cement boards.

why do you need to use green chip board, if you have water escaping you are not solving the problem the water Will just run along the board and escape some where else you need to retain the water in the tray. If its to support your tray 4 x 1 timber will do the job.

Home Depot and the like have green chip board it's in the drywall area. It looks like drywall 8x8 but it's has a special green layer on it. No painting won't work. Plus MOLD will grow and you will have a HUGE mega problem!

you definetly need a moister resistent board or external grade ply other wise you,ll only get a cuople of years out of it once wet chipboard expands and fall to bits.one of the worst ever cheap and nasty building products ever allowed on the market
