Considering using a large floor cloth to cover my wall-to-wall carpeting that I hate. I just want to drape it over the existing wall-to-wall. Where would you get floor cloth & exactly what is it made out of? I know you can paint it if you want to. Where would I buy this item. Can you get a piece of floor cloth 11 x 15 feet? Any information is appreciated.

I wish to change my dull white appliances in my kitchen to black but I can not afford to buy all new or used appliances. I have seen on HGTV that it is possible to paint a refrigerator but I am not sure how that would look, feel, or even if the paint job would last with cleaning. Hopefully you all can help.

I am getting ready to install a floor outlet in our living room. I have the materials but my only question is this......I have lighting throughout my crawlspace, can I tie into one of the light fixtures or do I have to go back to the light switch to tie into that box?

I hate my smoke detector in the kitchen. Everytime I have to use the oven above 400 degrees, it goes off. Forget about using my wok ! Anyone know a brand that will protect me from the bad smoke but won't go off when cooking?

I would like to move the position of my stove. To do so (with the circuit off naturally) it seems that I will have to open up the heavy duty outlet. A thick black cord is connected to the 30A outlet. I would like to open the outlet up, dismantle the wiring - reposition the outlet and stove and reconnect the wiring just as it was. Foresee any issues? I am assuming that if I dismantle the inside of the outlet, that I can put it back together in the same way.

Just wondering, a local A/C repair man suggested that I could do that during the peak summer heat to drop the temperatures in my house by a few more degrees. Anyone else tried it?

Has anyone here ever re-painted an old bath tub, shower or sink? How did it turn out? Any recommendations? I just bought a house and my master bathroom tub, shower & sinks are all a nasty mustard color.

I have a fire sprinkler system in my home and I want to change one of the heads. The current one is chrome and I want to replace it with a white one to match my ceiling. Is it as simple as shutting off the water, and draining the system or is there something more to it?
