there is no magic color to make your room appear bigger you just need to find a nice light color that you like because dark colors make a space look small and vise versa for light colors if you are unsure what colors go well together go to a home depot or home store and look at paint samples to find the colors you want to live with and use a light shade hope that helps

I would use light colors with a darker color for the trim. I would use a cream color for the base color and maybe a darker cream for the trim. I am painting an apartment right now and we are using a light gray color and that happens to make the rooms larger. The apartments look alot better with the grey color than the white, the gray has a nice shine to the rooms. The gray happens to be a lot nice than the white apartments and matches just about anything in you have for your apartment. I also painted my sister room a dark color and that happen to make her room look smaller than it really is. Hope this helped you!

Stick with a light color such as off-white, cream, a very pale sage green. Also, to give the illusion of space you can hang some tall mirrors, side by side, on one of the walls.

Dark colours absorb light and make it look small(like a basement). Light colours (like eggshell) reflect light and will make it look larger (not large). Also consider that, the darker you paint it, the higher you hydro bill because your tenant will use more lights to brighten things up. I have been a landlord and it is also difficult to rent a dark space!
