I'm replacing fire brick inside my fireplace and need to know what mortar to use?

The manufacturers make a high temp mortar. It should be sold where they sell the brick or can recommend a place.

any supply house can help you there is a specific mortar for fire bricks.

i know this may sound funny,but when i replace my firebrick inside of the stove,i dont morter it in.i put the bricks in loose and have never had anything go wrong or noticed a difference
