When the top paper of the dry wall has come off, do I have to use a special product, other than the plaster that is normally used for repairing damaged drywalls.

I have skim coated mine, sanded and primed. But the new paint did not stick, and the skim coat when I sand it a little harder, goes all the way back to the porous, brown paper of the drywall.

My sister insists on having the hall light on, and it drives me crazy when I try to sleep at night. I've got a towel stuffed under the door now, but I'm looking for something more permanent that won't make it hard to open and close the door. I know you can buy those door sweep things, but from what I understand, they are more for keeping out drafts and things like that. Any ideas? It's a long question for something not too serious, I know.

I am 19 and I want to be prepared when I get out on my own, which will be in just 2 months. I have some money saved up so I can but the things I need for my apartment, but I need help with the not-so-obvious. I know I will need to buy towels and kitchen stuff, but maybe someone who has been there, done that, can tell me what things they realized they needed AFTER they moved in that they didnt think about before... Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sorry for the length of the question, but I need to explain it and hope for a good answer.

I had recently painted my Kitchen wall with premium latex paint over and old latex that I even primed before putting the new coat.
I even washed the wall before priming it.

For unknown reasons, the new coat did not stick. In some places it could be peeled off like a piece of plastic.

About two weeks have passed, last night I decided to get to it and peel off the whole thing and redo it. But, now it seems to be stiking much better.

But still anywhere I scratch, I can peel off a little bit of the paint. Actually peel off.

Is that the new these new Enamel paints are and expected to be, or am I going to have problem if I do not remove them all first.
