easier to buy the solar panels than to build them.
unless you have a silicone crystal cutting machine?
solar panel, inverter, batteries, charge controller, and lots of patience are all part of
building a system for the home

Google for homesteads-- rustic living-- Mother Earth News-- These places have plans for solar heating of water for sure-- for power-- not sure but they might. I've read the steps sometime in my many decades-- and it didn't sound hard, either.
Don't forget books-- check out your library and the folks that work there-- they help locate information for patrons.
