The chain of my bicycle seems to be too loose, so it can drop down when I change gears. I want to cut the chain short, but I have never done this before, any good suggestions ?

Am going to rent a power rake and was wondering if it is wise to power rake my lawn in the direction of my last mow. Would this be more efficient for hte power rake to pick up the underlying thatch or would it be best to go perpendicular to my last mow?

At least good enough that a drum set could be played and it would be heard at best, like a TV on kind of loud in the next room.

I have an old addition with wood 'siding' that is peeling quite a bit. What't the best and easiest DIY way to scrape the peeling paint and prepare for the new paint? My intent is for appearance, not necessarily for durability over time, since I'm not keeping the addition for long.

We were given a beautiful green marble bathtub. Made by New Orleans Marble. It's the deep drop in type. When my husband was dropping it in, he didnt ask for help to put it in and broke 2 corners, also, after closer inspection, the bottom of the tub is cracking and peeling. It needs to be refinished. I'm wondering if I can be pointed in the right direction as to how/if we should refinish/repair it, have a professional do it or get rid of it and buy a new tub. We also have the one piece sink/counter-top to go with it. We live in Louisiana. Any websites to visit or directions for this? Thanks!

There are 4 concrete steps. I was thinking of mounting aside of steps in hole in ground and pouring concrete for support. A four foot length should be enough for rail.

I made 8 beautiful 3 inch pillar candles last year and put them in a fireplace sconce but in hot weather, they all melted and became misshaped. Is there an additive to make them retain their shape even when its 90 - 100 degrees?

The structure presently there is an aluminum frame with the individual slats of glass that crank out and a storm door. I want to remove this and frame it in and finish it with siding or something else but I'm not sure how to frame in an outside wall and what is needed as far as insulation or protection from the elements for the outside of the wall.

I bought a house in January. It's in town and has a gravel driveway along side that leads to the back where it takes up half of the back yard. All the previous owner did where it stops was lay down 2x4's (held in place with steel rods) as the barrier between the gravel and the rest of the yard. I want to extend this 4 more feet into the yard so I can fit one more car in the back. I do not know what is involved in doing this but cannot afford to pay a contractor $1200 to do it. The one thing I do know is that I cannot just spread some gravel over 4 feet of back yard and expect everything to be ok. What is involved in making the base needed for the gravel, and can I do it just household tools and no heavy equipment?
