We were given a beautiful green marble bathtub. Made by New Orleans Marble. It's the deep drop in type. When my husband was dropping it in, he didnt ask for help to put it in and broke 2 corners, also, after closer inspection, the bottom of the tub is cracking and peeling. It needs to be refinished. I'm wondering if I can be pointed in the right direction as to how/if we should refinish/repair it, have a professional do it or get rid of it and buy a new tub. We also have the one piece sink/counter-top to go with it. We live in Louisiana. Any websites to visit or directions for this? Thanks!

Here is a link to a web page which allows you to enter your specific info, and they will match you up with a bathtub repair contractor in Louisiana.

Good luck...hope they can fix it.

I am assuming you are talking about cultured marble pieces which as the previous answerer suggested is a resin product.

Lowes does sell a refinishing kit called Tuff as Tile but I am not sure it is for cultured marble. I know it comes in an epoxy kit and a one step spray can and is usually by the paint section. Either way, you are going to have to sand the pieces down before applying the epoxy. The crack portions I would imagine would have to be professionally replaced but may not be worth the time and expense for a repairman to come out.

If you are in Louisiana, Check with Barto marble on Airline in Metairie or Gulf States Marble in Slidell. Either one could probably steer you in the right direction. There is always www.ask.com Enter "marble repair" and that will bring you to various forums and newsgroups.
