I am purchasing a new home and rather than showing a living room in the floor plans they are indicating a great room. The upgrades that come with the home only pertain to formal rooms so is a great room considered to be a formal room?

I've tried Home Depot already.

I need to make two Thanksgiving Centerpieces for a nursing home. They must be at least 2x2. The director would like to enjoy them Mon-Fri of Thanksgiving week.

Now my question is: SILK OR FRESH.

I'd love to go fresh, but I can never be sure how long they'll last. So if I give them on Mon and they've wilted by Thu...

Well, I'm going for a relaxing theme- and I've been watching a lot of Design on a Dime (luv that show!!) on HGTV, and I'm thinking about a nice, Moroccan theme. I've seen a lot of turquoise and purple on the wall color, but I'm going for more of deep, rich, tones, like maybe deep reds, golds, chocolatey browns, and rustic oranges, and maybe inlcude a little bit of the purple and turquoise in accent pieces, like a rug and pillows. Since I'm doing my bedroom, and it's quite small, I'm thinking about a funton for a bed, and some chairs for additional seating, and an armoire (sp?) for my TV and additional storage. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS:
I have mirrored closets! So, what's a way for making those closets looks more moroccan, but not too pricy?
Thanks so much! Good answers please!

I live in an apartment and have a metal door with two small windows at the top. The windows are square and just by guessing, are probably 6 x 6 or so, give or take. I'd like to put something on my door for privacy in the evening, as you can see my bed from these two windows. Any suggestions? My neighbor has two plastic squares covering her windows but I would like something nicer. Do they make blinds this small? Or a shade? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

The house I have seen has cavity walls throughout the main 1930's house, but the kitchen extension has been built at a later date.

The kitchen does not have a cavity wall, it just has a solid red brick wall.

Would this stop me being able to get a mortgage on this property?

Also are there any relevant websites you could refer me too?

Thank you for any answers.

My front door is metal and we have stucco on the front of our house. How do I hang decorations on these surfaces without permanently damaging them? We are military and it's base housing, but I see other people hanging stuff and was wondering if there are special types of adhesives you use or something? The most I've ever done is nail pics onto drywall, lol, so any advice is good. The stuff I'm hanging weighs 10 lbs. at most.

It is really outdoor furntiure, but I am using it indoors. It seems to need some kind of finish, if only a varathane or something. I don't necessarily want to add color to it (like a stain), nor do I want to cover the grain. What's best?

Hi-
I'm a college grad student and am renting a townhouse. I am looking for ways to add fun color and decoration to my kitchen without spending too much money and no remodeling. I have cabinets with open space at the top so that has potential.
Any ideas?
