There are sun shades that are special orders through major suppliers like Bali, Hunter Douglas, Levelor, etc. They allow you to see outdoors but block the rays and intense sun. Wood blinds can help but will also block your view while they are closed. Check with Loews and Home Depot for all the options available. J.C. Penney and Target are very limited in what they can do for you.

Sun heat is too annoying in summers and specially when it comes inside the room. you should buy window blinds which can block sun heat and let you see outside also. Barblinds contain a wide range of such window blinds. Try you will like it.
