we are painting the inside of the house. there is a chair rail around the entire interior. the lighter tone will be on top of the chair rail. the darker below the rail, and the rail will be a tone slightly darker than the top.
is it best to leave the chair rail until last?
what would you do?

I need a few shades of yellow for my bathroom. The shades in the Home Depot don't work. So figured I would just ask here and look up the color on the internet and buy the paint from there. thanks!

I need some extra stucco to fix some small crack and for future use if need, my question is how do I get the stucco to match the color of the original? By looking at the wall, I can't tell what color it is for the original stucco.

Thanks

I want to buy my fiancee a full set of satin sheets and satin comforter and satin pillow cases and i thought I found what i wanted but I thought wrong I think. I found kind of what i wanted on this site http://www.fingerhut.com/search.aspx?searchstring=satin&cxid=0 but as I was looking, the thing that I first wanted didn't make sence. Apparently on the site besides the price difference (which is that the satin comforter set is cheaper than the woven satin bed set) is the satin comforter set comes with satin sheets and the woven satin bed set does not. Does that make any sence? I am guessing the only reason why its more expensive is because its woven satin I suppose. Anyway I was just wondering what the differense was and as a side question does anyone know where I can just get the WHOLE COMPLETE SET for her bed? When I mean COMPLETE SET I mean like the skirt, the sheets, the blanket (or comforter i beleive it is originally called), and pillow cases. Thanks for the help!

I'm moving out of my parents house tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I have most of what I need but I know I'm missing some stuff. I have all the big stuff like a table and couches and what not. I just need help on remembering small stuff, such as kitchen utensils. Thanks so much!

I rent from local authority, no central heating or double glazing and chilly and droughty! I am trying to make my house look and feel reasonably contemporary but at the same time cosy and inviting. In the evening you really feel a chill from the living room door, which is only a few feet away from the front door - the hallway is tiny. Would a door curtain on either the front door or living room door look totally naff? I guess this is like asking if it is better to wear nice stylish clothes that aren't so warm, or stop freezing and get a bloody great thick jumper on, if you see what I mean...

Is it a total no-no or do you think I can possibly get away with it in some way? Thank you!

Should I get it? I have green walls and hardwood floors. What color rug or carpet should I get? My curtains are green and gold also but I'm thinking of switching them to some dark wood colored blinds.

This is for a living room.

I have a large master bathroom about 12 x12ft.
What should I upgrade or change for the best increase in resale value.
Right now have big garden tub (fiberglass) and separate shower unit( fiberglass with glass door), vinyl floor, a 9 foot long older double vanity with cabinets below(MDF not wood) put in by contractor who build the house.
I will definitely need to replace the shower and the vinyl floor because they need to be repaired.

Do you think replacing the vinyl with ceramic tile floor is a better idea, or keeping it vinyl and upgrading the vanity/cabinets. The cabinets don't look bad, but are a bit outdated and match the ones in the kitchen and half baths. The similar homes in my area are selling for about 160K. I bought this one for 130K so I don't have much room to spend.

Would screws be better? Or do I have to use one of those stick-on 3M thingies?
