All I can say is, do not buy your futon from Walmart! We caved and bought one from there and it was the most horrid, annoying, uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on. The cushions were thin and would not stay on, the structure was weak, and it began to break apart within a month. We took it up with them and they took it back and replaced it with a different model and it had the same problems! Blech.

Try Big Lots. I was there looking for halloween decorations the other day and they had some futons for around $140.

advertise on Craig's list or put up a note in a grocery store near a university. Kids that are graduating or going away for the summer often sell stuff and futons are popular with this age group. jQR

Any department store really should have them. If you have a JcPenney they might have them in their catalogs if you live near a smaller one, Shopko. Or you can just buy the cheapo walmart one, talk to one of the ladies in the sewing section and buy some cute fabric to make a slip cover for it. Its pretty simple.

Try Ikea. Or if you want to go really cheap, maybe Sears or JC Penny...
