I don't have any great suggestions, just wanted to say that you have my sympathy. I had a hard enough time removing one layer without damaging the wall. With three layers I'd probably just add new drywall right over it. lol I found that dish soap mixed with warm water actually worked better than fabric softener.

Make sure and get a plastic scoring wall paper removal contraption. It allows the "fabric softener or other paste softener" to penetrate the paper.

There is also a "Steamer" you can rent from "rent a center" or see if Home Depot or Lowe's has one that you can rent.

I'm sorry, but all those people who cut corners and papered over paper were just plain old lazy and now you are paying the price. You're doing the right thing and it will look fabulous when your done!

Using a wallpaper steamer has always worked well for me. There are some that aren't very expensive I think... also, if it is a plastic or vinyl coated paper you may need to get a scorer and score the paper so the steam can get to the backing.

steam will peel that stuff right off the walls. steam it with a steamer or use hot boiling water. WD 40 will help with the sticky residue that glue leaves also, you may want to get it wet and scrape off whatyou can then use the WD.

Get a steamer-it will come off a whole lot easier. How have you been able to do it with razor blades? You must have a ton of patience!
