I'm planning a future addition to my house, which will include a new bathroom. I was told be someone that I need to be careful when adding more plumbing, because it will affect my water pressure. If it will give me poor water pressure, then what steps can I take to make sure this doesn't happen?

On the show "Sell this House" they provide estimates of each room after they fix it up to get it ready to show...those estimates seem REALLY low to me. Does anyone know what they are basing it on? For example, when they paint a room and rearrange furniture, are they only calculating the cost of paint, and not calculating in the other items needed, like tarp, brushes, pans, etc.?

I have a full-size head board that I want to "re-do". It's maple and has a very light finish. I'm thinking of distressing it, painting it, covering it, etc. Any suggestions you have for websites with ideas and "how-to" tips or your own ideas would be great! Thanks!!

I'm going to be painting a kitchen, bedrooms, a living room and a hallway. I need help with what colors I should pick though. I have never really decorated myself so I don't want it to look bad. I love warm cozy colors and not fond of bold sharp colors. I'm thinking a light yellow would be nice in a kitchen. What other colors give off that warm feeling? I've been living in an apartment with plain white walls and I'm just dying for a little color but I don't want to do everything in yellow either. :)

I found silk plants on ebay. It only comes with the plant and then you have to do the rest... has anyone did this? Is it hard or even worth it? The plants range from 2.00-5.00 for the plant only?

The dimension of the formal living of my house is 10x 13 feet. I need to furnish it…any suggestions? What do you think about sectionals? Is it okay to use sectionals in a formal living area? I was also thinking about accent chairs and a round cocktail table in the centre. Which is the best place to shop for furniture in Dallas TX.

I'd like to update our family room walls a bit, but can't decide if I should put pictures of our kids all over or artwork? If artwork, should it be all from the same artist? Also, thoughts on the large iron barn stars, too country? Our a large wall clock? The room is kind of small...

I have brown suede couches, goldish-tan paint on the walls. In particular I have a four foot space above the couch which is in between two large windows - this could be a space for a barn star, or clock, or ? Also, we have one large wall without couches underneath, just a leather chair/side table at the edge of the wall. How do I make something look like it belongs there and not just floating?

My style is kind of modern country, I like the look in Pottery Barn. Any ideas on how to make a room look together? Thank you!

My kitchen is very small and "L" shaped. Right now I have the walls painted a sage green color, which I want to keep. My cabinets are plain with no wood designs or anything, and they're stained a very dark, walnut type of color. My floor is vinyl floor tiles in a light beige white marble kind of pattern. My appliances are bisque color. I'm wondering if I should paint my cabinets a cream color, or antique white color or if I should refinish and stain them a lighter wood color - like light oak. I'd rather restain, but I'm also wondering how long it would take to sand down to the natural wood color. Any help would be appreciated because I can't make up my mind.

We have two totally looking end tables on our bedroom. I am planning on refinishing them and get them the same color. A cherry wood to match a dresser and Armour. I am just wondering if it will still look good! I dont want to shell out a bunch of cash for new ones (just to be matching ones) and my boyfriends is centimental and there is no way I am going to make hime part with it, so I am just going to refinsh it. Has anyone else done anything like this, how does it look?

I bought this beatiful wood dining table (not sure what kind of wood) a few days ago, but the table top scratched quite easily. So I bought some Minwax clear lacquer and put a few coats on it to help protect it. I followed all the instructions, and the first coat went fine. For the second coat, I used a fresh brush, and the bristles fell out of the paint brush while I was applying and dried into the lacquer. Even if I manage to pick out the bristles, it still leaves a crack - that looks like a scratch - in the lacquer. The appearance of scratches was exactly what I was trying to prevent. I can't change the past. What is done is done. Does anyone have any solutions for a fix?
