I have a huge wardeobe with sliding doors and I want to put posters and things on it so that it doesn't look so plain. Any ideas?

I really wouldn't stick the posters onto the wardrobe. Instead maybe you can paint the wardrobe with chalkboard paint or whiteboard paint (whichever matches your room better) and leave the posters for the walls. As many people pointed out, posters for decor can be tacky, but what no one has yet mentioned is that posters do have their good points too -- they are inexpensive, they reflect your tastes, and there are a lot of avid poster collectors out there who own posters worth thousands of dollars. Just how tacky can a poster worth $10,000 be?

What makes posters tacky is when they are hung with tape and from age and humidity in the air they start to hang all weird, sagging in areas, and stuff like that. Instead of tape, use inexpensive poster hanging kits (about $4 at WalMart) and if you have a favourite, it might be worth it to buy an actual poster frame for about $20.

The chalkboard or whiteboard paint will allow you to have a forever changing piece of "art" in your room. Scribble reminders to yourself, draw pictures, create your own graffiti, write the lyrics to your favourite song, then wipe it off and start all over again!

Have fun and good luck.

Posters are tacky.
Try painting the doors a bright color if your room is white. If they overlap one another, add a long mirror to the outside door.

EDIT to say: I just checked out your other questions and noticed that you're 16 so posters on your walls are still kind of acceptable. Not the most mature look, though. I still say toss them and go for a nicer look. If you're a girl, stencil on some pretty designs..be creative.

Although posters can be tacky, they don't have to be. Make a statement with them. As far as mounting them on your door, you could put them up with tape, like usual, or cover the door with cork and use pins that go with the posters. This makes it easy to change them too.

Use double stick tape, also called carpet tape.
Arrange them like a colleague, over lapping them and adding pictures of other things you like. Such as photos of friends, pictures or words cut out of a magazine or news paper.
Hope this helps.
