We are remodeling our bathroom and while we were tearing out the cupboards we found that there are three layers of linoleum, the bottom layer of which is asbestos. We can't afford to have a professional come out and do it. Is there any way that we can remove the tile ourselves? We don't want to encapsulate the floor either, we just want to get the asbestos out of there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm moving into a new place that has a really ...interesting... mint green carpet. The carpet is in great shape and since it's a rental I am not really about to replace the carpet. It's a pretty bright green, but I'm not sure which colo(u)rs of paint would make it look good.

Any suggestions?

The previous owner of my home painted the entire interior an Antique White (satin, except the kitchen and bathroom which are semi-gloss) including all of the walls, front, rear and side doors, floor trim, door trim, closet trim, etc which makes it all look a bit boring. I had considered painting the trim along the floors/doors/closets white (semi-gloss?) to add some much needed contrast but I have heard that may cause the antique white on the walls to look "dingy" Other features of note in the home are a large red brick fireplace with black cast iron wood stove in the living room, the carpet is kind of a steel grey berber throughout, the kitchen and bathroom both have a wood grain vinyl flooring, and all of the interior doors (bedrooms, closets) are wood also. It's all a bit overwhelming (in the dull sense) with too much of the antique white on the one hand and wood on the other! I need help! Any suggestions for guy with no color sense? (yes maybe thats a bit redundant!)

The reason I am asking this is because the wooden flooring at the moment is a light pine colour and the thought of replacing the whole floor is very expensive and a messy business.-

I'm thinking about painting my front door before I sell my house. The outside of the house is red brick with black used as the accent colour above the windows.

The wooden front door is currently stained brown and has a brass knocker and a brass-effect letterbox.

We just got new couches that are tobacco brown ( almost chocolate) Our wall - art, frames, and such are black, it went perfectly with our old couches. Will black frames go with the tobacco brown. I don't want it to look to dreary or muddy. What colors can i add to make it flow. I really like burnt orange. there are no pillows on the couch or window treatments yet. Painting is out of the question in this apartment. The rug is brownish beige, and walls white, with hideous blinds. But I can't change that, What do you recommend? I'm lost
