Do you have a piece of favorite art, or a throw pillow, or even a piece of clothing that has a pattern and you're just drawn to the colors; or you could shop for something you love? Use it to decide what colors to paint your rooms. If your kitchen is close to your bath, you might want to use the same color scheme. Pick out a light neutral color from your piece. Think about what color trim you would want (color #2) and do yourself a favor, keep it light and then a third color to use as accents in decor, like a "punch" color....you can buy towels or a table cloth in something that really stands out. This is the way decorators decide on how to match up colors in a room. So make it easy on yourself. IT WORKS! And you'll know ahead of time that it's going to look great! Godloveya!

It really depends on if you're planning to live in the house or to sell it. Decorating to live and decorating to sell are not the same. I'll assume you want to live there.
Take a focal point in your kitchen to begin with. Use something you really like in your kitchen, such as a tablecloth, a vase, your dishes... almost anything will do. Just make sure you like it. Then, choose the main color from the colors in that item. Add on two more colors and use them sparingly. 3 colors are best but you can use 2 to paint and a 3rd as accessories (soap dish, etc.) Go to a paint store and bring your item with you to make sure you get the right colors, as the human eye does not retain color... Enjoy!

My kitchen is has hardwood trim and cabinets. The floor has black ceramic tiles along with the counter tops and my wall are painted with a old country dark red. I looks really nice, but if you do use those colors you really need a large open kitchen because those colors decrease the size of the room.
My bathroom is all hardwood; the trim, floor and cabinets The counter tops are white tiled then all my accessories are sage green...sage green goes really well with hardwood especially in the bathroom!

In my kitchen, I have a kind of cream-color, with dark green, rose, and just a hint of blue and purple for highlights.
Green, blue, and some kind of light color are good for bathrooms too.
Happy decorating!

I have earth tones colors. Make one wall a darker shade to give it that nice effect (it is so in right now). Bathrooms are the basically the same. It depends on what you like, too. My 1/2 bathroom is blue (not by choice) and I just made it like tropical with fish and seashells. I would rather make it sand color and go with the faux painting look.

I am getting ready to re-do my kitchen in a darker tan color with black accent.
I just finished my downstairs bath - painted the walls a dark gray color and have lavendar and silver decor - it looks really great!

Creams, pale green, yellow shades or teracotta shades. The bathroom first choice seems to be blue but that is a very cold colour. Try everything white with white walls then your favorite colour for decorative towels and carpets.

If you have a small kitchen I'd say lighter colors to brighten up the room and make it appear bigger. Go for yellows, light green, orange, light blue, gray, etc.
For the bathroom I'd go with blues, lights and darks.

I've read that yellow is a good color for the kitchen, because that it inspires a good feeling. I think red, black and white are cool, its kinda Italian, which makes you think of good comfort food.
The bathroom--I think rich dark colors are the best, like a dark maroon and black, or a rich russet and gold.

Definitely white for a bathroom with some other colours spalshed in (not literally) like blues.
For the kitchen, depends on the feel you are going for. Lots of people I know go for dark colours like greys and blacks (in tiles), obviously white walls.
