There are two types of laminate flooring. One type is made with real wood grain and one is just printed onto plywood. If the grain is real wood, you might be able to sand off the sealer and stain them... but I would not recommend it.
- If you want to try and stain them, you might consider pulling them up and staining them one-by-one rather than in place. If you stain them in place the stain and sealer will pool in the gaps between the boards.
- You might just paint them with a glaze. The glaze will still show the grain through the color. If you did this, you still might pull them up to do it, but it likely to be less chancey than staining them. You will have to seal the glaze once you paint them.
The good news is that if you mess up, the floor is already prepped if you just go out and buy new flooring. It might be better to just look for a new boards.

Sorry to say but no, you can't stain it. Laminate flooring is particle board with a very thin plating of wood. It is all then covered in laminate plastic so the stain won't stick... The only options are to live with it or replace it. Have you tried putting down some nice area rugs in the darker color you wanted? That will change the look and also bring out the darkest grain in the laminate flooring you already have.

No, unfortunately, laminate floor is like plastic; it won't take a stain cause it's not wood. You could paint it with flooring paint, but the laminate won't hold the color well and it will peel off as soon as you start walking on it...cause it's plastic not wood. Might I suggest you buy yourself some room-sized accent rugs and runners? It's a perfect way to cover not-so-loved floors. Godloveya!

You can't stain laminate flooring. You will have to replace it if you want to change the color. Good luck.

No, you can't stain it. How about an area rug to darken the floor?
