I live in a totally brick house that was built in the mid to late 1800s. The walls are 3 bricks thick over which a concrete type substance was spread. I would like to have drywall put on the inside of some of the walls to create smooth surfaces.

i have wallpaper on my itchen, dining room and ur walls all that match. The paper is about 17 yrs old now but at the time was very expensive. The paper is more of a paper type wallpaper than vinyl but I have a border in the middle and on the top. Can this be painted over and if so how good will this procedure be..My rooms are very large and would be months removing. I have removed paper recently from a bath that was the same co. ann it was almost impossible it came off in tiny 1-2inch pieces.

We're going through the process of remolding a home that we have just purchased. In the entrance way there is peel and stick tiles on the floor. Whoever did them is entirely brain dead. They didn't remove the heater from the wall to lay the peel and stick tiles properly. Now in some places there are gaps on 1/2 inch to an inch from the correctly laid tiles to what they have put under the heater. Any way to pull those tiles up to lay new one's of the same pattern in they're place? Any help is great. Hoping someone who had this problem before will share their ecperinces as do's and don't.

I had recently decorated my bedroom/bathroom suite in pink since that's my favorite color and being a widow I thought I'd be alone for a long time or forever. However, I've met someone and we plan to get married but he HATES pink. His favorite color is aqua. Any suggestions for a room we'll both enjoy living in?

The original which we need more of was bought in Sainsburys a few years ago. We need one (or more) unfinished preferably. I'm sure they're still for sale out there, but we just can't find one.

We are picking colors for a condo that we're buying brand new and are considering the following: black and white checkered linolium in kitchen, baths and laundry (has to be the same in each of these rooms) with solid surface black granite countertop in kitchen and laminate black and white granite look in bathrooms. Ivory maple cupboards/drawers. Red walls in kitchen, black table with red accents.
Dark brown sofa, two red chairs, beige wainscoating with dark brown on wall above it, black entertainment center and end table, dark brown and beige area rug, red, brown, black, beige pillows, and other decor in these colors.

Do these sound good? I've always wanted to have a checkered black and white floor.... but is it way too tacky?

The second option we have is doing a light gray linolium flooring with the black counter top in the kitchen with the same light-colored cabinets and red walls, and a gray countertop in the bathrooms. The living room would be the same. ..So...?

I just got a new modular sofa/lounge suite and it was delivered with those plastic things on the corners. Are they there to protect the corners and I leave them on? They are not affixed particularly well... Do I remove them? In all the home interior / design magazines I never seem them on the corner of the sofas so I'mnot sure... Cheers :-D

I'm replacing an existing lug breaker panel that happens to be located in the fire-rated wall between my kitchen and garage. Per California, I have to bring the new panel up to code, which means either pulling all the wires and surface-mounting the new panel (yeah, right) or building some type of framing around the new panel. This doesn't quite make sense to me. What is the framing supposed to protect against? And is this even correct? Are there any other options?

The subpanel is the main house panel, fed from a 100A breaker in the main panel outside. I actually already fed another subpanel off this one (located in the same fire-rated wall about 36" away), so I'm doubly-screwed. Any ideas?
