We're going through the process of remolding a home that we have just purchased. In the entrance way there is peel and stick tiles on the floor. Whoever did them is entirely brain dead. They didn't remove the heater from the wall to lay the peel and stick tiles properly. Now in some places there are gaps on 1/2 inch to an inch from the correctly laid tiles to what they have put under the heater. Any way to pull those tiles up to lay new one's of the same pattern in they're place? Any help is great. Hoping someone who had this problem before will share their ecperinces as do's and don't.

We bought a house last year that had peel and sticks that were not squared up to any wall in the house when they were laid. We ripped them out of 4 rooms. We were lucky, ours had gotten wet at some point and they were fairly easy to rip in most spots.

You can buy a floor scraper at Home Depot or Lowe's. It is a hand held tool that uses a changeable blade. It is the same tool that the vinyl guy uses when he rips a floor. The come in a few sizes/price ranges.

Although I have not personally gone through your situation, what I'm thinking might be worth a try is to take a heat gun, (it is sort of like a hair dryer, shoots out much hotter air), and heat the tiles, one at a time, section by section until the adhesive beneath softens and then begin pulling up the tiles (carefully) while it is still soft. I would think this would be a two person job for the best results. I know it would be tedious work, but hopefully effective.
