I'm going to paint 3 walls bright white, but need a color for the wall the custom made valance is on. It is an older house built in 1925, rounded plastered doorways, oak wood floor stained a golden color. Walnut china cabinet and tableset. The curtain has gold, green and burgundy in it. It is right off the livingroom and that room has forest green carpeting, also painted white. Any suggestions?

I have to paint a room in a hurry and was wondering if it matters if I wash the walls before I paint or not.

my dad was trying to paint our ceiling and it had not been painting since 89-90 and it peels off a little bit and sometimes takes the paint in and you have to repaint it a lot.

thanks.

My parents are re-modeling our house, and I choose this really pretty color for my own room. It's a very very light liliac. My bedspread is actually a pinkish-purple with white. All my furniture is white. And we're getting new carpeting too, but I dont know what color carpet I want. I was thinking of a light creamy color, but I really have no clue. Have any suggestions? Any comments will help. Thanks

I am remodeling my home, and putting an egg-shaped bath in the master bath (http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/detail.jsp?item=143002§ion=2&category=10). It would look much better if I didnt have a shower in there (my bathroom is very narrow), so I was thinking about putting something like this instead http://www.danze4less.com/product.php?productid=1468&cat=0&page=3
Would it be ok for resale value?
The other bathroom in the house has a real shower in it.

I have an old house on an island in Croatia and I wonder how should I paint the blinds? In which colour, that is. Brown, blue or green? The blinds look something like this: http://www.jelovica-zagreb.hr/prozori/upload/1.jpg

This backroom (white painted pine) was starting to fall apart. In a few years we'll likely pull it down for an addition, but for now we want to use it.

We had pressure treated stairs put in last year after the old ones collapsed. We then noticed joist and panel rot, so the contractor did a great job repairing it, but now we have a backroom that has the bottom half in red cedar, the top half in peeling white paint over white pine, and stairs in raw pressure treated pine/fir/whatever.

The red cedar is so nice we don't want to paint it. At most we'd stain it something not far off from it's natural color. We'd like to paint the remaining wood to go well with the cedar and the rest of the house.

We have a cedar fence that we could also stain to match, but would also like to keep that as natural as possible. The back of the house is mostly light (i.e. yellow) brick. The ceiling, soffits, troughing of the backroom is white and the roof black.

Any design advice would be appreciated!!!

the universal sector for love is SW, but for a person with a gua no. 4, SW is the ghost direction.

For better luck in romance, should the SW be activated with crystals or not??

Thanks!

I'm seeing them in higher-end catalogs. Like Horchow, where I can only afford to fantasy-shop.

http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/47/search.jhtml?srcText=antler&ip_state=&ip_autoSummarize=true&ip_perPage=15&ip_dataPage=&orgUrl=%2Fstore%2Fcatalog%2F47%2Fsearch.jhtml&srcTextHidden=

Would you want these, or do you have them?

Personally, if I can ever afford to seriously shop from these catalogs, you can bet that I will *not* be buying things that would make my home look like the interior of my redneck relatives' trailers!

I don't get it. Maybe one of y'all can help?

I have a kitchen which I have started to theme with coffee decor. I have the type of kitchen cabinets which have room on top to place things. Any CREATIVE ideas for coffee-related items I could put on top of those cabinets? I say creative because I already know there are pictures/prints I could buy and signs that say "Expresso", "Latte", that sort of thing. I am looking for unique ideas.
