This is the theme in my kitchen! I use latte mugs (the large deep ones) all over to hold stuff: scrubbies and sponges by the sink, condiment packets (leftovers from take out), even in the bathroom (a white mug) to hold soaps, makeup brushes or what have you. For a center piece - fill mug with coffee beans and put a flower (in a bud vase in the center) or just beans (agitate the beans every so often to refresh the scent. Add hooks to inexpensive coasters (coffee themed of course) to hang kitchen utensils from. Target has a trivet that is silhouette of a steaming cup of coffee. A framed print on the wall (black frame and gold that matches the Harvest gold in my stove) that has "Mocha" on it. There are decent coffee themed kitchen accessories at Wal-Mart and K-Mart right now, including rugs. Target had some a few years ago and I have 3 flour sack towels on a tension rod over my sink (no window). Anything to continue the theme. Make fun place mats - laminate pics from books or magazines OR stamp or iron-on transfer fabric mats. Mine are store bought, but cheap; I think TJMaxx. I rent and I have mismatched appliances but I have a black microwave, toaster oven, cappuccino maker (of course), utensils, pots and pans, dishes. Gold/camel is sort of the accent. Having a color and a theme unifies the room as much as it can be unified. I'm still working on this. The colors you plan to work with are somewhere in my kitchen and blend well. Have fun!

I have an espresso themed kitchen as well. I second the idea of vases / candle holders then fill them with beans. What about old fashioned grinders? When I lived in Europe, I collected a bunch of those, you can find them on Ebay
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10&catref=C6&satitle=antique+grinders&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=45069&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1&fsoo=1
Oh, and how about some coffee bags? You know the kind that the beans come in? Or even a coffee bean tree, they sell plastic versions. I know that wouldn't fit on top of your cabinet, but....

I have a coffee theme also. .If you want more of a modern look I bought a French Café Press in silver and matching coffee mugs, I also purchased 3- 12x12 coffee sayings from ebay you are the cream in my coffee and friends and coffee make the perfect blend and coffeeology sayings. I also purchased rectangle shaped planters and bought coffee stencils and painted it on the planters. I also bought a cappuccino scented candle with a ceramic shade for the candle. Instead of an old fashion look my kitchen looks modern all the things are on the top of the cabinets. Hope this helped you?

I used to collect unusual cups and mugs and I displayed them on one of those expandable wooden racks. Above the cabinets, I would suggest you look through flea markets and at Goodwill and find unique coffee pots. I love the blue-speckled granite ones...and many of the old ones are really great conversation pieces. How about a wooden coffee grinder from the past? If you need more above the cabinets, mix a few mugs in with the other items. I love your idea. Go for it and have fun! It will look great!

For tops of cabinets, go to yard sales and estate sales look for a coffee grinder and tins representing coffee or things you would eat with coffee. If you didn't do a coffee wallpaper border, consider tin signs for coffee or things you would enjoy with coffee. Get some old mason jars and put coffee beans inside. Find an older coffee server and mugs to also put on the cabinets for display . . . you could put dollies on the wall or placemats resembling tableclothes.
I think it would be a fun theme with rich colors!
