Pecan/Beige, but keep ceiling white. This will make your room look more spacious, it's also very flexible for furniture. This is what I have, and I love it.

Paint it white or doe color (you can do a lot more with these colors)
If you stick with the pale/light colors it will make the room look bigger.
Red is too hot, dark blue makes it look too small, green is said to be like institution green, yellow is for kitchens...I've never seen an orange room (don't think I'd like it).

Blues and greens are soothing and peaceful.

Reds are very difficult to work with and may take 4 coats to cover the existing color.

Yellow is an anxiety producing color.

Dark colors will "shrink" a room.

Light colors will "enlarge" a room.

All four walls do not have to be the same color. Paint three the same and one complimentary. [Use a color chip from Lowe's which has three complimentary colors on one chip so you do not have to guess compatibility.]

A deeper blue. Try a federal blue or even navy. Don't be afraid of color!

Lime green with a black stripe and a white stipe on top of it around the entire room. It looks awesome.

Blues and greens are cool and relaxing, yellow, pink, orange, reds are warmer.

Neutrals can be used...for example a butter pecan and then you can just change accessories for a completely different look.
