We redecorated our kitchen in April of this year.
We used an oak colored wood laminate. It looks
great. The company that installed the flooring recommended using a Swiffer. That's what I use and it still look brand new. Good luck to you from 2 more seniors....

Apparently wood laminate shouldn't get wet or it can have problems. They do have some very nice vinyl floor tiles that look like wood.

We put laminate wood flooring in our kitchen and although it was a challenge to keep clean . . . it was beautiful. Invest in a Floormate since it does for hard floors what a carpet shampooer does for carpet.

I think if it is just the two of you and you don't splash water all over it, it should be OK. The water is the reason it isn't recommended, however, if you are careful, it should be fine. I actually just put down a bamboo "rug" in my kitchen and it is holding up fine and looks good and a ecofriendly option.

Why not? It's your home and you can put anything down that you wish. Ask a home remodelling person to find out what would work best for you in your double-wide.
