K. I was in msterdam last week and the hostel we stayed in was called the St. Christopher@the winston (find contact details online). Now, i'm not just bragging about my holidays because this hostel had particularly good black out cutains and i asked the nice rastafarian at reception where i could get some, he was very, very helpfull and told me...but i've forgotten. You should get in touch with the hostel, ask for the rasta and ask about the curtains. Good luck.

They don't need to be be black - you just need a light-stop lining, most curtain makers will offer this as an option at very little additional cost, or you can hang the linings separately inside existing curtains. They aren't black, just opaque, which sounds like what you want. Another option is an opaque-type roller blind, fitted inside the curtain, eg any that have a metal foil layer inside.

Voyage (voyagefabrics.co.uk) do a range called Bellini which is mostly black & gold, about £42 pm, but you can get them cheaper by buying online eg discount fabrics. If you just want to block the light out, the curtains can be any colour but need blackout lining (which is actually cream). Available john lewis etc for about £5pm.

Probably because they are not popular enough for any company
to tie up money on inventory. I am sure that you can have some
made or your curtains lined by a tailor.
