We have tried a bit of sanding, the wall is a mess. I'd like to go textured (rather than all the wall prep), but haven't done this before. I'm not experienced, so it would have to be idiot-proof. Has anyone had a good experience with home depot's Venetian Plaster?

My husband and I don't drink coffee, so we don't really want to call it a "coffee table." Here's a couple ideas we've come up with...
"sofa table"
"floor decor"

If you like one of these, or have another suggestion... Thanks!

We are looking to remodel an existing building into a retail area. The building was already a retail place, but we are going to turn a back room into part of the store. I need ideas on shelving and how to utilize a small space. We also have a small budget.

My mom's boyfriend also gave me this really large fan, he said was an original from china, which I do sense it's authenticity, but I have no idea as to where I can place it.

I've been thinking of placing it on the wall atop my headboard but my room is more modern style, well with a few oriental stuff in it but the fan is a large accent.

But since the wood doesn't really match, it's like cherry? brown and my bedframe is that rich dark reddish brown color....so im' thinking of staining the wood on the fan to match the color, what do you think?

I have actually painted my kitchen floor and polyed over it, but was checking out a decorating site that talked about "brown bag" technique. It seemed similar to what I wanted to do. I cannot afford wood flooring right now, and wondered why I couldn't use wood looking wallpaper and stick it to my floor and polyurethane over it. Anybody done it-think it will work? Let me know.

I have a pine armoir (sp) that I would like to re-finish, I want it to be dark like cherry. If I stripped it and used a cherry finish would it look dark or would I be better off using a dark paint?

Serious answers only please. I am wanting to do my living room in green, black, and white. Maybe not so much white, but I have off-white leather furniture. My favorite color is green and I thought it would look good. PLease give me suggestions, and also maybe what color I could paint the walls to make everything tie in together. Thanks.

Contractor simply said it won't match. Checked with Lowe's and Home Depot, they said you have to redo the entire ceiling. It seems there should be some way to make the repaired part match the rest...Any ideas?

every summer the leechie fruit ripens in our garden and thousands of FOX BATS emerge from jungles around and devour the fruit. workers make noises and also now we tried putting light bulbs on top of trees but this method is not economical. this question is not related to earlier question on small bats staying in verandah. the small bats are approximately six inches across but the FOX BATS are having wing spans of more than a metre.
