I have actually painted my kitchen floor and polyed over it, but was checking out a decorating site that talked about "brown bag" technique. It seemed similar to what I wanted to do. I cannot afford wood flooring right now, and wondered why I couldn't use wood looking wallpaper and stick it to my floor and polyurethane over it. Anybody done it-think it will work? Let me know.

Brown bagging is excellent on the wall. I did that in my bathroom. I would not suggest doing any paper technique on the floor. Floors need to be mopped more frequently due to spills and traffic. It won't last if you continue to apply water to it.

you can but you have to scrub the walls down and clean them first.. Also.. you might want to think long and hard about it before you cover up wood paneling with wallpaper.. think if your going to be there forever or if your going to want to change wallpapers in 10 years.. It's going to be a pain to remove the old wallpaper from the wood to put new on. If you double layer new on top of old wallpaper on a panel like that it will look bunched and stand out too far from the wall. So think wisely.. I would just take the panelling off and put up some plain white glossy panels first then do the paper. Good Luck

What an excellent idea...I have never thought of doing that. I wish you the best in your project and hope it turns out. I will keep this on my watch list so I can see what others have to say. Good luck...that's so creative!!!
